As a volunteer firefighter in the City of Harrisburg, I had the pleasure of knowing Captain Blessing, and working with him during his years at the Mount Pleasant Fire Station. Captain Blessing was a true professional who did not differentiate between career and volunteer in terms of firefighting capabilities and responsibilities. Captain Blessing always treated me as an equal, and for that I will always be grateful. Rest in peace Captain.

To Mary and family, I am so sorry to hear of Johns passing. John was a great guy and I loved to shoot the breeze with him omg firefighting collecting . He was knowledgable and had a great collection. He will be remembered and will always be missed and a void was created in our circle of collecting friends that cannot be filled. As a FDNY member John called me right after 911 to see how I was doing. He was a true Brother in the fire service. If heaven has a flea market I hope Jpohjn gets all the good finds. May he rest in peace.
