Walter C. Hoke, Jr. 72 of Grantville entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at his home with his wife by his side. He was born June 29, 1948 in Harrisburg and was the loving son of the late Walter C. Sr and Dorothy E. (Hoch) Hoke.
Walter was of the Jewish faith and was a member of the Temple Micah.
Hoke, as he was known to friends and family, was a proud veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 945.
He started as a welder at Bethlehem Steel moving on to a welding instructor at Cumberland Perry Vo Tech. Later he worked in sales, and then as a District Manager, for MG Industries where he retired after 19 years.
Hoke’s love of dogs lead him to become a certified dog trainer and a volunteer for H.O.P.E. as well as a former officer for Dauphin Dog Training Club. He also enjoyed golfing, motor sports and seeing the world, with regular trips to Argentina, Florida and California. Hoke’s greatest love was spending time with his family and friends.
Hoke is survived by the love of his life of 42 years, Lisa Yaffe; daughter, Kelly L. Seaman (David R.) of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Sadie, Macy, Greyson; brothers-in-law, Roy (Hope), Peter (Christine); niece, Elizabeth; nephews, Spencer, Luke.

There are some early memories of Hoke and our group of friends during the late 60's and early 70's. The one's I recall the most were a few trips which I called the "caravan of vans". One was a few days spend at the Unadilla Motorcross events. Vans parked around us, tarps covered what they could. Yes, it did rain. Those few days were a great time for us.
The other caravan of vans was spent visiting Washington D.C. Zoo. We may have lost Dan that day temporarily. This was another fun filled exciting day.
Over the year's I saw Hoke here and there. It was always good seeing him.
My thoughts are with Lisa and Hoke's family.
My sympathy to all,

Vicki Flohr
